Description

Staffordshire is an innovative, ambitious and sustainable county, where everyone has the opportunity to prosper, be healthy and happy. It is a county with a proud heritage and bright hopes for the future – well positioned at the heart of the thriving West Midlands to create jobs, growth and prosperity for our residents and businesses. With a financial position that will be the envy of many in local government, we are looking to capitalise on the changes that are taking place in the sector, putting Staffordshire at the forefront of innovation and future best practice.

As our Assistant Director of Strategy & Transformation, you will serve as our chief strategy officer, advising our Leader and Chief Executive on where to take the council and the county next in order to build on our success. With direct responsibility for Strategy, Strategic Policy & Partnerships, Strategic Delivery, Corporate Insight, Change and Digital, and our exciting journey of the Staffordshire Centre of Data Analytics, you will lead a broad multidisciplinary team. Using the resources at your disposal, you will ensure that Staffordshire is at the forefront of change, helping us to deliver better outcomes for our residents and businesses.

The Assistant Director of Strategy & Transformation role is now available following the promotion of the current postholder to our newly created post of Director of Transformation. This is part of an exciting new directorate at the forefront of innovative solutions and strategic change.

We welcome applications from candidates with a background in any of the disciplines within the team or even wider. What is critical is that you have a track record of driving innovation and change in the public sector, and an appreciation of local government
